The Ryder-White Tarot, named after the publisher and main author, is one of the most popular among witchcraft and divination fans. The deck was designed in 1910 by Arthur Edward Waite, who specialized in the study of Freemasonry, Kabbalah, and mystical teachings. He was a member of the Order of the Golden Dawn, which also included the artist Pamela Coleman-Smith. The American-born artist created the image for each card under the direction of the author.
